NEWS LETTER FEBRUARY 2018
Next Meeting
Wednesday 7th February at 7.45pm in Watlington Town Hall
Speaker: Colin Roberts
Colin Roberts who is the head gardener at Adwell House will speak on ‘The Gardens at Adwell House and Salvias’. Most of us have visited the gardens when they have the Rare Plant Fair in autumn so it will be interesting to hear some background to the garden. Colin is a great fan of salvias too.
Last Month
We had a really excellent talk from Maron Talbot on ‘Orchids in the Wild and in the Home’ which was informative and her slides were a delight to look at. But most useful she gave us a physical demonstration of how to re-pot an orchid. Nothing like actually seeing something to understand it. She had an array of pots and jars and implements which she laid out as though it was a cooking class, including powdered cinnamon, dilute bleach, Methylated spirit, what did she want all this for we asked ourselves before she showed us. (If you missed the talk and would like to read her advice I wrote it up for the February edition of the Watlington Times.)
VISITS. We have information on the coach trip we are offering this summer. A visit by car is not yet finalized.
