NEWSLETTER JULY 2025 Next Meeting SUMMER SOCIAL Wednesday July 2nd at 6-8pm Mei Jiou has invited us to her garden for our Summer Social. She lives in Peppard Common. She has done most of the work in her garden to create it herself and it is original and quirky, it has features, different areas, a pond full of huge carp, woodland and lots of self-seeded plants and wood and brush piles creating homes for ‘critters’. There will be nibbles and dinks, as usual we will ask for a donation for a top-up of wine. We will also have our garden themed Tombola so please bring some cash. Guests are welcome, there will be a charge of £5.00 payable on the evening. There is not unlimited parking so I hope you can double up in cars. Anyone needing a lift and who cannot find someone to take them please call me on 01491 612368. The address is Green Trees, Peppard Common, Henley on Thames RG9 5EN.It is part of an old clubhouse that has been divided into 3 many years ago. The turning has a notice saying Green Trees, the entrance to her garden as you arrive down the drive is on the left and is the furthest gate (not the house called ‘Green Trees’). There will be balloons at the entrance and the parking will be signposted to the right after entering.
Last Meeting: Andrew Mikolaski gave us a talk titled Plants for Shade with lots of names plants for different seasons of the year and different types of shade. You should all have received his plant list and my report on his talk.
RARE PLANT FAIR There is a Rare Plant Fair on Sunday 20th July 11am-4pm at Bledlow Manor House, Buckinghamshire. The house and garden are owned by Lord and Lady Carrington. The Garden merits a visit in itself.
