Roger Askew will talk to us about The Savill Garden. This 34 acres garden is well known and has gardens for different seasons but it is possibly best known for its rhododendrons and azaleas. We are hoping to arrange a visit to the garden later in the year. We hope this talk will whet your appetites to join the visit.
LAST MONTH Stephen Cotton gave us a very interesting talk, Green Spain North and South- Flowers and habitats in thePicos de Europa, about his visits to Spain’s mountains to see mostly alpine flowers. He illustrated the talk with some wonderfully detailed photos.
VISITS On Thursday 27th February a group of members are going to visit the Hellebores of Ashwood Nurseries and John Massey’s Garden. You will hear all about it at the meeting.
TALKS AT OTHER CLUBS: BENSON GARDENING CLUB. Last month I gave you details of a talk by Frances Tophill on 'Right Plant Right Place' on Thursday 5th March 2020 at 7.45pm at Benson Parish Hall. WALLINGFORD GARDENING CLUB has a talk titled The Healing Power of Plants by Timothy Walker on Thursday 12th March at 7:00pm for refreshments and a 7:30pm start, at Ridgeway Community Centre, Old Buildings off Wood Street OX10 0EW.
