NEWS LETTER MAY 2019
Next Meeting
Wednesday 1st May at 7.45pm in Watlington Town Hall
Speaker: Andrew Mikolajski
The title of Andrew Mikolajski’s talk is March of the Women – Who are the notable womengardeners of the past and of today. Andrew has a distinguished career in various areas of gardening and has written numerous books. He is an accomplished speaker and I am sure his talk will be a pleasure.
Last Month
Heather Godard-Key talked to us about ‘Growing Pelargoniums’ at the family run Fibrex Nurseries. She was an inspirational speaker obviously loving her plants which she stroked and loved. We learnt about the development of Pelargoniums from their origin in South Africa and all sorts of information about how to grow them.

FIBREX NURSERIES: After Heather’s talk last month I received requests to visit the Nursery. They specialize in Pelargoniums, Ivy and Ferns and also sell geraniums and begonias. We have been advised that the end of May is a good time to go. This will be a car trip; there is no entrance fee just a contribution to the driver’s petrol would be in order. I’ve found it hard to choose a convenient date but have chosen Thursday 30th May. Liz will have a page at our next meeting for drivers/passengers who are interested to put their names down. This is informal, so if there are several people who would prefer another date, they can get together and make their own arrangements.
VISITS. We now have details of two more visits for you. If you are interested in going please bring your completed forms and cheques to the next meeting.
